Transfer from your accommodation or airport in Marrakesh. The journey to Ait Ben Haddou will begin through the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi n’Tichka pass (altitude 2260 meters).
For travelers who have some time (opted for an earlier start) and would like to delve deeper into Moroccan history, there is an opportunity to visit Kasbeh Telouet before our final destination to Ait Ben Haddou, a crumbling yet beautiful village steeped in lavishness, traitorship and the struggle for Moroccan independence. After your visit to Telouet, take your time to explore and revel in the beauty of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou (made famous by the movie “Gladiator” and TV show “Game of Thrones”). Although this site is now used as a setting for many TV and film productions, one should not forget that it has a rich history as well. It was once a large fortified city that sat on the caravan route that led from Sudan to Marrakesh. Inside its impressive walls lies homes, places of worship, cemeteries, a caravanserai, grain and storage mills.
