Spectacular Sahara Retreat!

I wanted to do a solo desert trip in the Sahara for a while now (this was my third trip to Morocco), and this touring company went above and beyond.

I was in touch with Bobo and Ivette beforehand, and she was so responsive to all my inquiries and questions via Whatsapp. I only could do two nights maximum, so they designed an itinerary for me that allowed me to fly into Zagora, see sites along the way (including traditional pottery and tagine-makers), spend one night in a luxury camp, then drive across the desert stopping at rug making, an oasis, and a dried out lake area bordering Algeria before arriving in Ouarzazate to stay in a kasbah, before my early morning flight back to Casa.

I had my own driver, Jamal, who was spectacular. I'm a Muslim woman traveling on my own and he showed nothing but respect. We listened to beautiful Tuareg music along the way, which brought back memories of a music festival I went to in Algeria.

The food along the way and in the camp through my stay in Ouarzazate was delicious and amazing. Another highlight was getting to the dunes via camel ride and being able to climb the HIGHEST dune in all of Morocco.

This would not have been possible without the wonderful planning of Sahara Touring. Do not look any further if you're thinking of a Sahara excursion, this is the best of the best!

Traveling to the desert in winter with a senior parent and a child felt intimidating at first, but Sahara Touring made it completely seamless.

From pickup in Marrakech to our return, everything was thoughtfully handled by Ivette and Bobo, including accommodations and meals.

Our driver, Said, made the long journey to Erg Chegaga comfortable, with well-timed stops and great local insights.

At the private luxury camp, Hamid and Ali took incredible care of us, and the tents exceeded expectations with hot water, heaters, and warm bedding.

What truly set this experience apart was the authenticity. From star-filled skies and home-cooked meals to sandboarding, music, and fireside evenings, every moment felt special. My son didn’t want to leave.

A once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we wouldn’t trust anyone else but Sahara Touring.

So glad that we had this real Sahara experience at Erg Chegaga.

We went there with 4 members of family, and we had the best trip of our life! Everything was smooth just like what Ivette told us on the phone, and even more!

From the picking up by Ismail, the best driver and guide truly! He was very knowledgeable so we learnt so much about the desert and the country during the 3 days traveling with him; he was super polite and made us feel very at ease and comfortable. Once we arrived in the destination at the camp, it was just magic! We had so much fun to play in the sand and enjoy the sunset and danced hours by the fire.

The next morning to get on the top of the dunes before the sunrise, and camp carer brought us even the hot tea. We love the whole team, from Bobo to the camel guide, and of course lovely Ivette made the whole trip very pleasant!!

It's lifetime memories that we will cherish for a long long time, and THANKS for all the effort and beautiful work that Sahara Touring delivered.

Authentic, safe, and enchanting

I highly recommend Sahara Touring. My son and I had an incredible Moroccan adventure.

Our driver, Mohammad, was so knowledgeable and informative. In many ways he was our day to day guide. He was friendly, an amazing resource for us, and is now our friend.

Our itinerary was meticulously planned by Yvette at Sahara Touring. Each Riad was hand picked and perfect. The service, food, and ambience at each Riad was enchanting, and every single breakfast was grand. They also accommodated my dairy allergy.

We stayed in Marrakesh at Dar Hanane, Fez at Dar Roumana, Todgha Gorge at Auberge the festival, Ait Ben Haddou at Kasbah La Cigogne, and in the Sahara at a mid tier camp owned by Sahara Touring.

We literally did not have to think at all. Mohammad guided us to excellent restaurants, clean bathroom facilities, and even non-touristy Berber homes to purchase carpets. He knows exactly where to stop and for how long.

I highly recommend Sahara Touring. Take advice from Yvette as she will create perfect itineraries based on the time of year.

We cannot wait for our next Moroccan adventure.
