An Authentic Moroccan Experience Like No Other

I... read more was in touch with Bobo and his colleague Ivette beforehand and she was so responsive to all my inquiries and questions via Whatsapp. I only could do two nights maximum, so they designed an itinerary for me that would allow me to fly into Zagora, drive along the way to see sites in the desert (including the traditional pottery and tagine-makers), spend one night in the luxury camp nearby, then do a drive across the desert, stopping at various locales to see traditional rug making, an oasis, a dried out lake area (some parts bordering Algeria, which was amazing, as I'd been there back in 2015), then arrive in Ouarzazate and stay in a kasbah there. I then took an early morning flight back to Casa. I had my own driver, Jamal, who was spectacular! I'm a Muslim woman and was traveling on my own and he showed nothing but respect. We listened to beautiful Tuareg music along with way, which brought back memories of a music festival I went to in Algeria, highlighting this traditional type of music. The food I had when we stopped along the way and in the camp all the way through my stay in Ouarzazate, was delicious and amazing. Another highlight included getting to dunes via camel ride and being able to climb the HIGHEST dune in all of Morocco! This would not have been possible without the wonderful planning of Sahara Touring. Do not look any further if you're thinking of a Sahara excursion - this is the best of the best!

Not. One. Regret!

Everything was quickly and efficiently taken care of (well, except for the terrible flights, but that's not their fault : ) ). From the moment our amazing and very capable driver, Ali, picked us up until he dropped us off, we felt safe & secure in our adventure through this remarkable country (we are convinced that Ali has superhuman abilities). We didn't realize how convenient it would be to not only have someone who new their way around, but who had no qualms picking us up and driving us from anywhere at any time no need to worry about parking, directions, haggling with taxis or navigating the truly off-road experience of the Sahara Desert (note: we met another tourist couple at the desert camp who had attempted to drive through the desert on their own, but they got stuck in a sand dune 5 minutes in).

Ivette had arranged the perfect tour encompassing many (most) key sites and all local guides were taken care of we had history, city tours, desert and seaside adventures. Some of the driving days can be very long, but the ever-changing landscape certainly helps pass the time. And the riads and other accomodations that she selected were phenomenal.

I can only highly recommend Sahara Touring for a no fuss no muss adventure of a lifetime. Thanks so much especially to Ivette and to Ali, who we now consider part of our family and hope to see again one day.
